The Christmas Tree Angels are here! Each angel is for a child in the community who need help with having a Merry Christmas. Each comes with a list of items needed or wanted. Giving people from the community choose an angel, purchase and wrap the gifts, and then return them to the library. Volunteers gather the presents and distribute them at Christmas time. Even though there are many angels on the tree this year, you need the hurry because they go quickly. The library is thrilled to be a part of this project.
December 6th is the date of the Thayer Christmas Drawing. Activities begin at 4 pm at the city park. Hot dogs and hot chocolate will be provided by the Masons and the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Santa will be greeting children and handing out treats at 4:15 and the drawing will begin at 4:30. All activities will be held outside this year for the safety of everyone. The library is contributing two gift bags for the drawing as usual. Pictures of the two gift bags are posted on our Facebook page. Everyone needs some holiday cheer this year so come join the fun. This event is sponsored by the Thayer City Booster Club.
The dates for the Thayer FRC City Library Board meetings will be different for the next four months. The board will meet on the second Monday of the month rather than the first Monday. The meetings is still be at the library and begin at 5:30 pm. The dates of those meetings are: December 14, 2020, January 11, 2021, February 8, 2021, and March 8, 2021. There is still one open position on the board that needs to be filled. If you are interested in serving on the library board, please attend a meeting and let us know. You do not have to live inside Thayer City limits, but you must have a Thayer mailing address. The library strives to be a service to the community and welcomes community input. We can’t do it without you.
