We would like to thank everyone who came to the rescue when we had a problem with the air conditioner. Thayer is AWESOME! We really appreciate the support the community gives the library. This would be a good time to reflect that this support is not new. Thayer has been giving its time and money for this library for 125 years. We are working on a collective cookbook to highlight some of the people who have made this community so great. The Library Board voted at its last meeting to dedicate the cookbook in memory of Joy Woolery. She gave so much to this town. We will all miss her. We always have more room for hints, history, recipes, and stories. You can mail us your entries at PO Box 37, email them to thayerfrc@embarqmail.com, or bring them by so that we can copy them. You could even fax them to (620) 839-5646.
It is not too late to sign up for the Summer Reading Program. We have programs for kids, teens, and adults. Another new offering is Authors’ Clubs. If you would like to be put on the waiting list for your favorite authors’ newest books, we can do that for you. Just let us know which authors you would like to sign up for. We will take care of the rest and give you a call when the books come in. This is just another service to help make your library experience better. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do.
We would like to remind people of the services we offer which don’t include reading or viewing. We offer free computer access, free wi-fi, low cost printing and copying, faxing, and free database access through the Kansas State Library.
Take care, and come see us at the library.
