We hope everyone made it through the cold weather okay. We are sorry we had to be closed so often during the last few weeks. The library came through the storm in good shape, but the heavy snow did a number on our front awnings. Hopefully, Spring is around the corner.
We have 25 new large print books to offer. There is an assortment of mysteries, romances, and Christian literature. We have new books by J.D. Robb, Jonathan Kellerman, J.A. Jance, Faye Kellerman, Traci Peterson, Lisa Jackson, and Michael Connelly to name a few of our favorite authors. We will receive new rotation books March 5th. We should have something for everyone. Remember if we don’t have a book that you want to read, we can usually get it for you quickly.
Thank you to the people who have sent recipes. We will type them up and have you check them to make sure we have everything correct. Having a library for 125 years is a big deal for a town the size of Thayer. It speaks to the dedication to learning and culture this town can claim. It will be interesting to see the family recipes and memories while we celebrate the heroes who keep Thayer thriving. Remember you can mail your recipes to us, bring them by, email them or even fax them if you want. Please include information about civic organizations and positions held, if any.
A reminder that our monthly board meeting will be held the second Monday of the month, March 8th, at 5:30 pm at the library. As always, the meetings are open to the public. In order to keep all of our patrons healthy, we do require masks or face coverings to be worn while in the library. We also have a hand sanitizing station that should be used before handling the computer equipment. We are all so tired of this, but we have to work together to put it behind us as quickly as possible.
